The John Sebastian is an old lightship in the Bathhurst Basin in Bristol docks (near the Lousiana / Ostrich pubs).

Plans are to extend the venue openings from just club nights at weekends, to nightly opening and become a new and unusual acoustic venue. The interior is ideal for acoustic gigs and there is a reasonable stage at one end. One downside is that the bar area is open to the gig area, separated only by the main stairwell to the upper deck, so if people are noisy in the bar, it disturbs those who have come along to hear the music.

IMPORTANT: As The John Sebastian is classified as a club, you need to contact the promoter BEFORE the event so you are added to the guest list. After that, just turn up and pay at the door as normal. Not on the list - you won't be allowed in.
